的 East Georgia State College (EGSC) Bobcat Pantry recently received a $5,000 grant from the Georgia Power 基金会. 的 grant will be used to help stock the on-校园 food pantry to benefit students at the College. Georgia Power focuses on supporting causes contributing to the well-being of the communities they serve. 当地的格鲁吉亚 Power representatives determine which local organizations to invest in by directing funding where it has the most impact.
“We are so thankful for this generous donation from the Georgia Power 基金会,” said Harley Smith, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at EGSC. “山猫 Pantry is such an important resource on our 校园 to help our students succeed, and we appreciate Georgia Power recognizing that need and helping us support our students.”
As part of Embark Georgia and a partner of Golden Harvest Food Bank, the EGSC Bobcat Pantry helps provide students with some of the basic needs they may not be able to attain through other means. Students can be referred for assistance or apply. 的 Bobcat Pantry was organized to ensure that all students attending EGSC are not adversely affected in their academic studies due to an inability to meet their basic needs.
的 Bobcat Pantry provides educational and personal counseling, mentoring, personal care items, and food assistance. 的se services can be requested confidentially through submission of an online form. Requests are reviewed to determine the need and to what extent it can be responded to within a 24-48 business hour period. Students are then contacted and informed of where they can receive their requested items. 此外, students can stop by the Bobcat Pantry during operating hours to complete an in-take form.
East Georgia State College would like to thank the Georgia Power 基金会 for their support of the Bobcat Pantry and EGSC’s students.
